WHAT THE HENNA?!
I get asked SO many questions about Henna. What is it? What’s the difference between henna and normal tint? How long does it last? I also hear many things that people say/think about Henna which most of the time couldn’t be further from the truth. So I am going to put the record STRAIGHT! I hope this answers some of your questions and if your still unsure about something please feel free to contact me.

What is it?
Henna is a 99.5% natural product that has the power to stain the skin as well as the hair. Unlike regular tints, it contains no ammonia or peroxide’s. It conditions the brow hairs as well as encourages new hair growth. It is also excellent for those resistant grey & white hairs.

OOOOh, this is the henna I get on my hands, right?
No, this Henna is formulated and sensitive enough to be applied to your face.
Is it permanent?
No, it’s not. It is not a tattoo, it is not invasive, it does not hurt. It simply stains the skin and tints the hair.
How long does it last?
Like anything, results do VARY, however, most of the time you can expect the skin stain to gradually fade over 7-14days and the hair tint 4weeks. As I said though, this is not guaranteed. Sometimes, the henna just doesn’t take well to certain people’s skin. Your lifestyle also plays a big part in the longevity i.e. swimming, excessive sweating, using face products on the eye area etc will all result in your henna brows fading faster than usual.
Does it have to be dark?
NO! We have a variety of colours, ranging from blonde to ebony, warm auburn tones to cool browns. If you don’t want your brows to be dark, THATS OK! A lighter tint obviously will fade quicker than a darker one however, again the decision is yours!
Why are all the pictures of henna so dark?
Most of the pictures we share look dark because the Henna tint is still on. This is because most of our clients CHOOSE to leave their henna on. Once the Henna is brushed out, the result is much softer and no where near as dark.
Do I have to leave the Henna on?
The short answer is... NO! We remove the Henna before you leave the studio to ensure it stained your skin perfectly.
Does Henna last longer than regular tint?
For most people, the answer is yes it does. However, for some people it’s the opposite. This is not something we can control nor guarantee. We make every effort to ensure that you do get a great result. Again, the only way to truly find out is to try it for yourself.
I got home and decided I do not like my brows, what can I do to remove the henna?

To fade your henna, use products like face cleansers and a gentle exfoliator.
How do I prepare for my Brow Slay at Brow Qulture?
Honey, coming to BQ is an entire experience, okay!!! Here are a few things I recommend to do prior to showing up to your appointment, during, and after your appointment.
DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT:
-
No Makeup. I cleanse and sanitize your brow area. This will remove any brow makeup and our foundation you have.
-
Cell phone must be silent. This will ensure you are completely relaxed during your session and it will ensure your brows are relaxed during the shaping and design process.
-
No additional guest/children allowed in studio. I am a mother and single mom, so I completely understand the struggle we sometimes face! If you need to reschedule please do so 2 days prior to your appointment. One reschedule is allowed per deposit.
-
It is not necessary to shave, or pluck off, any part of your brows before your appointment and we actually prefer it if you leave them with as much natural hair as possible. If you have very little hair that is totally OK though!
